Ethnic Marketing Predictions

Dr. Felipe Korzenny presents Hispanic Marketing Trends: 2009 and Beyond posted at Marketing Trends in a New Multicultural Society saying “The future for Hispanic marketing in the United States is bright, full of “dualities” and opportunities. The future is indeed bright. While the media propagates bad news as their way of attracting attention, they ignore the positive trends in the economy. Hispanic marketing is one of them.”

Online Marketing Predictions

Karen J. Bannan has her 4 predictions for e-mail marketing in 2009, posted at B to B saying “This year, the hot e-mail marketing topics were segmentation, personalization and deliverability. As we head into 2009, battling a recession and the associated drop in overall marketing budgets—MPG North America (a unit of the French advertising group Havas SA) predicts a 5%-to-8% drop in overall ad spending—those buzz words will make way for new ones. They have to, said Luc Vezina, head of marketing for e-mail marketing solutions provider Campaigner, a Protus IP Solutions company. “E-mail marketing is going to become even more important than it’s been, but companies are going to need to take e-mail relevance even further,” he said. Here are Campaigner’s four predictions for the New Year—and suggestions for how e-mail marketers can benefit.”

Marshall Kirkpatrick presents his Top Marketing Geeks Make Their Predictions for 2009 posted at Read Write Web asking “Will 2009 be the big year for corporate transparency, for a global conversation – perhaps for bargain basement online marketing tactics instead of old-school huge commercial campaigns?”

Neal Leavitt presents 6 experts’ predictions for 2009 posted at iMedia Connection saying “Getting overwhelmed by all the negative economic news? Are there any brands that may actually do well in 2009? And with so many companies reeling-in spending and slashing budgets, how will this affect strategies and campaigns? Which agencies, technologies and industries will shine in ’09? We asked a panel of industry experts to give us their thoughts on these questions and more.“

Donald A. DePalma presents Predictions for 2009: Globalization Technology, Services, and Business Models posted at Global Watchtower saying “Where did 2008 go? For those of us in the United States, it was mainly a blur of the permanent campaign for President, with dozens of contenders methodically whittled down to just two candidates. The election took place against a backdrop of troubling economic news. In light of market conditions, we downsized our Crystal Ball Department, thus producing just five predictions about language practice, service, and technology in 2009.”

Netimperative presents Digital media predictions for 2009 posted at Netimperative saying “Mobile apps developers, digital agencies and casual gaming firms are set to prosper the most in the digital sector during 2009, according to a new report. Investment bank GP Bullhound has forecast a broadly positive outlook for the European digital media sector in 2009 as call for entries open for the Media Momentum Awards and Top 50 league table of Europe’s fastest growing online, mobile and technology companies.”

Social Media Predictions

Paul Chaney presents Social media marketing predictions for 2009 posted at My Venture Pad saying “Advertising will gradually be replaced by information. Content and conversational marketing strategies will converge. Social media marketing will continue to gain acceptance”

Ann Handley presents 50 Social Media & Marketing Predictions for 2009 posted at Marketing Profs Daily Fix saying “It’s that time of year again: the holidays are upon us, a new year looms, and the pundits polish their crystal balls and make their predictions for what’s in the offing. This year, Daily Fix contributor Peter Kim assembled some 13 of us to answer the question, “What will 2009 hold for Social Media and Marketing?” Herein is Peter’s compilation, as well as a PDF of the results. Read it, print it, save it… and see how close we came when 2010 rolls around.”
