I hear echos that businesses have now had a chance to play around with social media and are incorporating social media into the marketing strategies for real business results this year.  And we continue to hear about social media success stories every month. <p>It&#8217;s a virtual event and you get the recordings shortly after the live event so you can listen to it when it suits you.  There are generally 2 3-hour sessions a week over several weeks.  This pace is easy to fit into a busy schedule and it gives you time to digest the training.</p>

<p><span class="drop_cap">T</span>here is no doubt that understanding social media is crucial for successful web marketing today.  This is easy to see even if you are not an active web marketer.  In fact, anyone with an internet connection is sure to notice the buzz about social media marketing.  All businesses are listening.</p>
<h3>Many People Buzzing About Social Media Marketing</h3>
<p>It is not only about domestic marketing.  Any marketing on the web has an international angle.</p>
<p>Last week I explained why <a title="social media marketing" href="http://cindyking.biz/understanding-social-media-for-stronger-web-marketing-international-too/">social media marketing</a> has to also be part of an international marketing strategy.  It is also about the very nature of social media.  The social aspect of social media marketing makes this marketing tactic particularly interesting for international marketing.<span id="more-7335"></span></p>

<h3>Join The Social Media Success Summit Community</h3>
<p>Of course, as this is Mike&#8217;s third community-building web event, and given the nature of the event itself and the personalities of the experts involved, anticipation is running high.  The Social Media Success Summit 2009 kicks off on May 26th and lasts for four weeks.  The LinkedIn group, currently open only to participants, and the private forum are up and running with some thought provoking questions there already.</p>
<p>I will be attending and participating in the private forums. My goal for attending this summit is to stay current on the areas where I am comfortable, and to use this month to strengthen my Facebook marketing which has always been the area of least interest to me.</p>
