When Darren Rowse over at Problogger said he was going to try out the Web Video University training program by Dave Kaminski, I decided to give it a try. You can read Darren’s follow up over at Problogger.

The Web Video University course was great. There were 4 weeks of in-depth training. It is a good all round course on how to make professional marketing videos and how to put them online. It is excellent for quickly creating great marketing videos that sell.

If you are interested in taking this course there is another one on in June. Put aside a half day to one day each week to follow the videos. Give yourself a lots of free time over each weekend for the four weeks, if you want to get going on your videos during the course. You’ll be making your own teleprompter the first week and sorting out your lighting at home.

The course shows you how to make different kinds of videos. You don’t even need the video camera to get started and David tells you where to get a free 30 trial of the video editing software he uses to teach the course.

There is lots and lots of content. But it is so well explained and it’s easy to follow. It is well worth it and I highly recommend it if you want to learn how to create videos for the web. This one course is all you need. You have access to it and all the updates for a full year.

Being a cross cultural international sales specialist with a new business, I want to start doing a little international video marketing for my own business. Cross cultural marketing expertise can easily be incorporated into video marketing.

International Lead Generation

International internet marketing goes a long way to help you get international visitors to your website. But you also need a good international sales strategy.

Most businesses using internet marketing to reach international audiences do not have overseas offices and staff. Many of these companies, and probably the vast majority, do not have any real sales strategy to get more international leads and clients.

There are two different sales strategies often referred to online:

• Front End Acquisition
• Back End Sales

The internet marketing strategies are very different for each of these.

Businesses usually learn how to go after international back end sales. This is usually as easy as customized emails and phone calls.

A good front end acquisition strategy can open up international markets for your business. Without the expense of overseas offices and foreign travel.

But international front end acquisition sales are harder. They need more international market knowledge and marketing savvy. They also take longer to put in place.

Brick and mortar companies with an online presence will often not even think they have a way to create a front end acquisition strategy.

And yet, information products offer every business the ideal opportunity to create a front end acquisition strategy. Persistent internet marketing with good tracking and testing practices offer every business the way to adapt to international markets.

International business expansion is available for those who put together a good front end acquisition sales plan and work with it to learn about their international markets.

Create Front End Acquistion Information Products For International Sales

International Business Development Strategy

Internet can toot the “Global” horn, businesses often just don’t see how internet can help them expand internationally.

Businesses still tend to think of international development strategies in the traditional way of doing business.

The problem lies in the traditional background of the people involved and the traditional nature of the business. Traditional international business development was limited to hiring overseas staff, setting up offices in foreign countries or hiring unfamiliar third parties.

The vast majority of the first successful international business stories also seemed so far from the standard business world. And yet internet marketing today can play a significant role in making a business international.

New International Development Phase

Internet is simply a means of communication. You need to incorporate international sales and marketing skills within this communication tool to actually get international clients. And you will need to use different touches of traditional international marketing.

This does not involve hiring foreign staff or opening foreign offices immediately.

But you will need to create targeted foreign marketing campaigns, delivered in a format that works in your foreign markets, in order to develop your foreign markets from your current location.

And things are a little bit more varied:

• There are in fact different means of communication using the internet: emails, websites, ezines, podcasts, blogs
• There are different skills in international marketing: traditional international marketing skills, multicultural communication, cross cultural communication.

Finding the right mix is key to getting international clients. Luckily internet marketing can be tested and adjusted in real time at no cost.

This is why international business development today is easier than ever before. An initial international internet marketing strategy with the right marketing mix can get you started.
