Hi Susan, Translation usually brings up lots of questions. People involved in translation know that human translations are better. Some people do not like the idea of a machine translation that poorly represents their work. A Finnish reader left some very good advice: the quality of the software translation depends on the languages involved. Some languages combinations are very difficult for machines to get even half right. Google Translate does a fairly good job with many language combinations. People abroad are used to the quality of Google Translate for their language - and they will have picked up little tricks, such as translating back and forth to see how good the translation is. So they can be helpful.

I hear many people chasing after "cheap" translations which can be waste of money. I think it's best to take things slowly: build up your connection with your foreign markets. Get to know them. And slowly translate key content. The risk otherwise is to pay for translations that become obsolete once you have a better understanding of the people you want to reach.
