International Marketing Review – English Tweeting Women to follow from Europe

International Marketer Review Saturday Blog Carnival

On 27 February, Nicole Simon @NicoleSimon wrote a post on the 101 english tweeting Women to follow from Europe on her blog cruel to be kind. This list intrigued me, so today’s Marketing Review is about some of these women across Europe that are using Twitter. As Nicole says “In the spirit of the recent women2follow OR womentofollow (and also because today is followfriday) I give you 101 English Tweeting Women to follow from Europe.”

Welcome to the 7 March 2009 International Marketing Review.

Megan Fitzgerald @ExpatCoach presents Expat Networking: Effective Networkers Have Clear Goals posted at career by choice saying “In order to make the right choices regarding where, when and with whom you network, it is best to have specific professional objectives. When you have clear goals, decisions about where to invest your time and energy networking is much easier – and optimizes your chances for building mutually beneficial relationships that will help you achieve those goals.”

Alina Popescu @alina_popescu presents PR and Marketing Articles on Mirror Communications posted at  WOBM saying “Now that you know that the Mirror Communications PR and Marketing Agency is up and running, I’d like to share another piece of news today. I’ve also launched the Articles and eBooks section with a first piece on events and the myth of the almighty booth.”

Maria Sipka @mariasipka presents The inauguration of Linqia posted at linqia saying “It’s no coincidence Linqia incorporated on July 4th 2007 and officially launches its beta site January 20th 2009 – the historical day where the world celebrates the inauguration of the 44th President Barack Obama.  Politics aside. The Linqia site is live!”

Daniela Arens @danielaarens presents  Welcome to The Moderator Community posted at The Moderator Community saying “Bienvenidos! Welcome! Benvingut! Bienvenue! Willkommen! I would like to express a warm welcome to all of you and tell you how excited our team is of having launched this community.”

Donna Jackson @wisequeen presents Top Ten visited websites in Italy posted at wisequeen.com saying “I’ve always been curious of the top ten sites visited in Italy, ever since I was told they had static internet use per capita. They certainly buy cell phones and tech gadgets like crazy, so here it is, the list. Italians love Facebook too.”

Claudia Faltys Benassi @claudiafalt presents From Lift08 to Lift09: Convergent Tracks posted at Convergent Tracks saying “One year ago, at Lift08 in Geneva, I opened this blog coached by Stephanie Booth, but not really knowing exactly where this would lead me to. Some things were clear, though: first, I had to dive into that field, would it be only for professional purposes. Actually, how could I ever be able to counsel, roll out general marketing strategies without even having tested a slight, but important part, of social media? I knew part of the theory, time had come to go on to practice! Secondly, I also wanted to experiment that playground to express a personal point of view agregating personal and professional interests. A kind of convergence, that lead naturally to “Convergent Tracks”.

Stephanie Booth @stephtara presents Busy Week posted at Climb to the Stars saying “To top it all, just after the Lift conference (you can read the notes I took there by looking at the previous posts), my MacBook fan decided it was time to die. Did you see me holding my ear up to my laptop during the conference? That was because it had started making nasty noises. Thank goodness it waited until the conference was over to die.”

Katy Howell @katyhowell presents Tongue in cheek view of social media jargon posted at immediate future saying “Flog Definition: When a marketing bod pretends to be a 12-year-old computer nerd and leaves made-up reviews of his own products all over the blogosphere – it’s known as a fake blog or flog. Like fake hair, fake nails and fake tans – fake blogs are cheap and nasty. It’s not a good look.”

Lesley Johnston @Lesley_Johnston presents What Are Twitter Hashtags? posted at Social Networking For Business Women saying “If you have been using Twitter for any length of time you will probably have come across some of those you are following, posting tweets with # codes on them.  You can go to HashTags.org for a full list of hashtags and if you want to set up your own hashtag, search for it on here and see if it’s already being used.  If not, go ahead and start using it.  All you need to do is send a tweet with the hashtag in it and that’s it set up, very simple!”

Melinda Seckington @mseckington presents Movie Review: Watchmen posted at Miss Geeky saying “I’ve been looking forward to Watchmen for months. Ever since seeing that first trailer, I’ve been psyched to watch this movie. I’ve never read the graphic novel, but every comic book geek I know has been declaring their love for Watchmen for ages. “

Nicola Cairncross @wealthcoach presents Cashflow Is King posted at The Money Gym saying “As the news on the TV and in the papers gets worse and worse, I keep hearing about cashflow crisis, and investments underperforming, and companies going bust, and jobs being lost. Judith and I are increasingly feeling as if we have to alert you to what’s really going on out there and so I’ve written a series of three articles that cover everything we want you to know about looking after your money right now.”

Amy Palko @amypalko presents This Boulder… posted at Less Ordinary saying

“THIS BOULDER WAS BROUGHT HERE FROM NORWAY WHERE IT WAS WORN AND SHAPED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS BY FORCES OF NATURE FROST, RUNNING WATER, ROCK, SAND AND ICE UNTIL IT OBTAINED ITS PRESENT SHAPE

This quotation is from a large boulder that sits at the west end of Princes Street Gardens in central Edinburgh.  Sitting in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle it appears, at first, more than a little incongruous.  Edinburgh, renowned for her architecture, doesn’t seem like the kind of place where you would find a large boulder sitting an a well-manicured garden.  And yet there it sits and seems quite at home.”

Judith Lewis @JudithLewis presents Leveraging Social Media for PR and SEO posted at SEO Chicks saying “Not long ago, I was invited to a bloggers evening for chocolate.  Most who know me well, know that my passion for chocolate has made me as discerning as some are for wine.  I can taste a chocolate and discern whether the bean is mixed origin, over-roasted, has added veggie oil, too much sugar, etc. I am passionate about chocolate.”

Hermione Way @hermioneway presents Counterpoint posted at NewsPepper saying “Counterpoint, is an online reputation management tool for businesses of all kinds, from small scale ones to high street names. Watch the video to get a feel for what it’s all about and how it came to be. Produced by Newspepper and Studiome.”

Barbara Gibson @Barb_G presents Have you ever been hungry? posted at Connecting the I’s saying “I’m a bit hungry, even as I write this post.  It’s 11:00, and all I’ve had this morning is coffee, no real breakfast.  But a few steps away is a fridge with plenty of food. I’ve been, at times in my life, flat broke, struggling to pay bills, worried about finances. There were times when I clipped coupons, ate tinned soup or boxed macaroni & cheese because it was a really cheap meal. But I’ve never experienced the kind of hunger that comes with true poverty.  For that, I am thankful.  And so today, I’m lending my support to a campaign aimed at providing food to those who have not been so fortunate.”
