Uniquely Cindy
When I started studying copywriting, I often heard it was good to read the National Enquirer… to learn how to write good headlines.
Well I guess I’ve lived out North America too long. I find the topics very limited and got bored trying to find the value from the National Enquirer headlines.
So I looked around for a magazine to read more to my taste. This is how I found Mental Floss.
I’ve been trying to add weekend posts my readers might find more entertaining, and have been looking for an opportunity to put in a link to these fun reads.
Most people with an international mind-set are curious beings. Curiosity is what often sparks our interest in other cultures.
This weeks link post on the Mental Floss blog has a couple of posts with an international flavor. I had a look at all of the links here. This was both a good laugh and inspiring.
You can find :
- Almost every condiment package the world has ever seen
- A world map to determine your exact opposite location on the other side of the world
I had a good laughing spell when I read the:
- Strange and funny metaphors found in high school papers.
- Hilarious captions of some Olympic photos
I also tried all of the Mental Floss lunchtime quizzes on the blog. Surprisingly the one I got the highest score on was the Name That 007 Tune quiz. This is probably because I started my career in the music industry and have seen most of the James Bond films.
If you would like to stimulate your curiosity and get a good laugh or two, click through the links above.
Remember to let me know below whether you enjoyed them as much as I did!
