Cindy’s Tips
Is cross-cultural communication challenging for you? Do you need help to break out of your cultural comfort zone?
It’s easy to develop cross-cultural skills but you need to put in a little effort consistently over a period of time. The trouble is that we don’t always have the time to do this in today’s busy world.
This is why I wrote an email series of short tips called Cindy’s Tips.
A word of caution: Cindy’s Tips tips are not for everyone. They may seem too obvious if you have strong people skills or if you already have some basic cross-cultural skills. But they are a great help to busy professionals who lack cross-cultural and international skills.
Developing strong skills takes time because we often get stuck. We are often quick to assume we have an excellent understanding of the little steps, but in practice beginners often trip on these basic steps. This is why these tips are:
Short
Each tip is short and gives you:
- Often a one-liner… to keep it simple and to get to you think about it in different situations.
- Two related questions… to get your thinking process started
- Three links for further reader… for when you have extra time
Frequent
Each tip is delivered to your email inbox about every 2-3 days. The repetition will help you to:
- Open your mindset one small step at a time
- Deepen your cultural awareness and keep your personal development moving forward
- Improve your cultural skills almost effortlessly
