Cross-Cultural Communication Challenge – Expand Your Mindset

Today’s Cross Cultural Communication Challenge Tip is an easy tactic to avoid cross-cultural misunderstandings.

At the end of a cross-cultural conversation, or at the end of a topic, summarize what you say. And of course, once you have summarized what you said, you can also confirm your understanding of what the other person said.

This is good because:

  • Usually this gives the other everyone time to digest and understand the conversation
  • You usually use different words which helps understanding
  • This reinforces the understanding of what was said
