Cross-Cultural Communication Challenge – Expand Your Mindset

Today’s Cross Cultural Communication Challenge Tip appears to be an easy one. But it is often difficult to be easy on ourselves when we are in a business context.

There are 4 monthly Cross-Cultural Communication Challenges this year.  The March Challenge helps you adopt the right mindset.  The last challenge will be about personal development.

Part of the reason behind today’s tip is the need to give space for personal development.

We need to be patient with ourselves because cross-cultural skills represent a process of personal development.  Most people need time to adjust to different cultures.

And of course, we also need to be patient with others because they are going through a similar process of adjustment.

Very often successful international business is a team effort. This means:

  • We also have to be patient with others in our team
  • Management needs to be aware of cross-cultural communication challenges and give their support
