Cross-Cultural Communication 30-Day Challenge – Get Extreme With Clarity

Here is the second tip on becoming more aware of your cross-cultural communication.

Clarity In Cross-Cultural Communication Tip 12

Today’s tip gets us to focus on what we say.

Think about the words you use and try to make them easy to understand

You might be surprised by the words your international clients have trouble with. For example, many Europeans find Latin-based words easier to understand. This is simply because there is a similar word in their native language.

Don’t waste your time researching lists of words and rules on when to use them. Instead, pay attention to words that are difficult for others to understand and try to find an easier alternative. It is always best to learn how to communicate with each of your international clients. With experience you learn where most communication pitfalls happen and can add extra clarity to your communication in those areas.

Use this tip as a starting point. Think about what this means to you. Not sure what you think about this? There are a few links below for suggested reading to get you started. Follow each of these tips this month to improve your cultural skills.
