Both International Marketing & International Sales

I have over 25 years in the field experience as an executive in sales and marketing for both large multinationals and start-ups. All of my work involved international business development in new markets. So there was always a component of both sales and marketing. Sometimes my work involved more marketing than sales and other times it was the opposite.

Marketing & Sales Adjustment At Point Of Entry

I’m at my best when adapting to the marketing and positioning challenges faced at the moment of entering a new international market. This requires very specific skills in maintaining the balance between company objectives and the reality of selling in a different environment.

No matter how much preparation there is before entering a new international market, the sales and marketing tactics almost always have to be adjusted.  With my background I know how to adjust new markety entry marketing and sales to get it right and with my cross-cultural business skills I know how to do it fast to avoid wasting time.  In practice this means I jump right into the sales and marketing action.  The job titles vary.   But I always coordinate closely with senior management so we can come up with the best tactics and strategies to develop the international business.

Cross-Cultural Competence Applied To Business

Carrying out international marketing and sales tasks for new foreign market entry is not easy.  You need to have an intimate knowledge and understanding of your own cultural filters.  And let’s face it, most people don’t.  Your team needs a good level of cross-cultural competence and this takes experience. Many businesses realize they have to adjust their international sales and marketing tactics just at the point of entering a new market, when the rubber first hits the road.

I have always worked in the field based here in Europe.  I’ve lived all of my professional life abroad and I don’t live the “expat” life. There just aren’t too many other Bahamians around.  Beside I always like to integrate fully into the local environment. This means I’m continually adapting and applying my cross-cultural competence in everything I do.

My Services

I started a company two years ago to help businesses create their best sales strategies to enter new foreign markets. and something interesting happened the first year. I used social media marketing to promote my business abroad and got it right the very first time. I found that my skills in knowing how to adapt to new international markets also helped me to use social media. Other people started asking me how to create business focused action plans to get the most value out of their social media marketing.

Traditional international business development involves a wide range of services. I also now offer social media and web marketing tactics to help businesses struggling to get it right.  Although I am focused on international business development I also help other businesses out to set up their social media marketing plans.   And I provide content creation services for inbound and lead generation marketing to get the ball rolling.

Each situation is different.  Many businesses require a selection of my services, you can read more here.  And don’t hesitate to email me at cindy@cindyking.biz if you have a question.

This Blog

As I mentioned above, I use international social media for cross-cultural networking to get international clients. This blog is my personal online hub. This blog aims to help others develop their cross-cultural competence for international sales.
