A Short Comedy On Cultural Pronunciation

Culture Videos

Submission for your one page screenplays in WildSound’s competition ends today.

Have a look at last year’s winner. This is a very short comedy on pronunciation in a multicultural setting.

This video highlights cultural adaptation of a Philippine family in America… and how to pronounce a very common swear word.

It is a great way to show the lighter side of striving to improve pronunciation when speaking a foreign language.

…Something we have all been through when traveling or living in different countries.

And of course, it reminds us of the deep personal challenges you have to make when adapting to different cultures.

I remember how I was when I first came to Europe. I had no clue about the extent of personal involvement it takes to adapt to a new country.

    Cindy,

Very cute. I’ve sent a link to three of my friends from the Philippines who now live here in the States. Coincidently or not, they all have wonderful appreciation of humor.

    Hello Alec,

I also liked this competition run in Canada – Canada has taken in many immigrants over the years. When I research cross-cultural communication I always come across something Canadian. Looking forward to this year’s winner.

    Happy New Year to you!
