I think you have right in posting those rules or reasons. The most important thing in my opinion is to stay with the content and style of writing. Sometimes it is easy to write just about anything but sticking to particular topic is tough and requested by many. People sometimes are looking for very specific knowledge, maybe your blog could give them that.

Thanks for your comments. You know something, I think I was in a very similar situation last. And I found that 2 related blogs or content websites can give you a more powerful marketing machine. Last year I wrote every day on 2 blogs, this one and http://GetInternationalClients.com – this worked wonders. My blog is more soft skills oriented and Get International Clients is more how to and strategy oriented. For various reasons, I had to put aside Get International Clients this year, but will be picking it back up again in a few weeks. I’m sure it multiplies the visibility and credibility in some way. It’s also fun to market with the 2 different blogs. I think two related blogs can work very well together. Each has a role to play – you just need to find out how you want to play it (this is one reason why I put one of them aside for a while). Timely post – I have been realizing that was has been my main blog has to remain Caribbean focused and probably won’t ever be very commercial, but that I should focus on http://explorearts.blogspot.com and make that the business one.

I too, find I am skimming content, and though I’ve read lots of advice on short paragraphs, subheadings, bullets, etc, I’m realizing that using bold paragraph headlines really does the job well.
