I’ve learned what works best for me. For example I love mindmaps and use a central mindmap dashboard for all work done on my computer. But sometimes I really need to have things on paper. For example, I need to clearly write down my business goals for everything. It just doesn’t work as good if they stay in my head. And I follow a bit of advice I got a while ago aimed at small businesses: have one clearly identified call to action for each social media platform. This makes it easy to know what I’m doing.

I used to jump from one learning curve to the other, now I know how to pace myself better. I look at my business goals and decide on the next piece of software or social media platform I have to learn how to use and focus on that. I try to keep it to one thing at a time and give myself space in between. And I make sure I give myself some “fun” time every week to just look to see what’s going on out there.
