Hi Cindy, All the tips are useful and practical but a very few people use them. The best one would be the art of asking questions, right ones from the right people. Even I am practicing that, apart from that showing gratitude for the smallest of the gestures from tweeps is also a great way to create engagement.
    Thanks for sharing the tips…

I was pleased to notice I do most of the actions you recommend here. To be honest, as a writer, I get the most out of the #amwriting chat I’ve met great people there which resulted in quite a few “follows”. But to be honest, I hang out there mostly because I feel some solidarity with people there. It’s good to know I’m not the only one struggling with writing :)

Great post! Thank you for sharing!

Hi Jane, I need to update this and say that you don’t need to do all at once. :)

It helps me to add variety from time to time and reviewing the different tactics can help you to get strategic about doing the actions you need to get the kind of connections you want.

Hi Akash, thanks for dropping by! I agree with you totally with regards to the art of asking questions. This is a skill well worth developing.

Good suggestions. A simple “Thank You” goes a long way. I suggest everything take a moment to send a note of thank you to all of your fans for the things they do – i.e. RTs.

I had blogged few weeks ago about 50 different ways to increase your twitter followers – which included similar advice like yours.

    All the best.

Thanks for dropping by Guna. Do people around you ask you how to get better results from using Twitter? It seems like some people make this out to be harder than it actually is, and then some people simply don’t think about the tips mentioned here.

Glad this helped Camille. I think of Twitter a bit like a telephone on steroids. It's a great networking tool. (plus a bit more if you need that too)
